Who runs this site
Sill (sill.co.za) is run by Lefty23 (Pty) Ltd, a private company, registration number 2026/706220/07, Cape Town, South Africa. Contact: [email protected]. Our postal address is available on request from [email protected]. You may save or print these terms.
What Sill is
Sill helps you work out what you want for a window and sends your request to one installer who covers your suburb. Sill is not the seller, the installer or the maker of anything you buy. We do not measure, quote, supply or fit. Sill is free to use, and you must be 18 or older to send a request.
No price from Sill
Sill gives no price and makes no offer. The installer measures your window and gives you a quote. Only the installer's written quote is an offer to you.
The installer
- The installer is a separate business. Your agreement, if you make one, is with the installer. The installer's quote, work, guarantee and aftercare are the installer's responsibility.
- You pay Sill nothing. Installers may pay Sill a fee for each request they receive.
- Your request goes to one installer only, chosen from the suburb you give.
- Where an installer has signed with Sill for your suburb, we show their name and visit fee before you send. Elsewhere in our areas, Sill receives your request and passes it to one local installer, who tells you their name and any visit fee when they contact you. You do not have to accept their visit or their quote.
- Installers receive requests only under written terms with Sill.
The visit fee
The visit fee is set by the installer, not by Sill, and is paid to the installer. Installers agree with Sill to charge no more than the fee you were told, and to take it off the order in full if you order from them. For business premises the visit is arranged with the installer.
Pictures are illustrations
Pictures and colours on Sill show the look of a style. They are not the exact cloth, colour, size or finish. Screens show colour differently. Ask your installer for samples, and judge the cloth in your own light.
Advice on Sill
Sill's tips and "help me choose" suggestions are general. They do not replace the installer's measuring and advice. Check safety points, such as cords near children, with your installer.
Your details
How we use them is in the privacy notice at sill.co.za/privacy/.
What you give us
Give true details. Do not use the site to send other people's details without their knowledge, to send false requests, or to harm the site.
Our responsibility
Nothing in these terms takes away a right you have under the Consumer Protection Act or any other law.
Sill does not measure, quote, supply or fit. The installer's quote, work, goods, guarantee and aftercare are the installer's, under your agreement with them. Sill is responsible for what Sill itself does: the information on this site and passing your request on as described in our privacy notice.
Installers agree with Sill to contact you within two working days. If one does not, tell us at [email protected] and we will follow it up or pass your request to another installer. We cannot make an installer answer.
Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. The version that applies to your request is the one that was on the site when you sent it.
Law
South African law applies.
Complaints
Write to [email protected] first; we answer within 10 working days. If you are not satisfied, you may go to the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud (cgso.org.za) or the National Consumer Commission (thencc.org.za). A complaint about an installer's work or goods is with the installer; we will pass it on if you ask.
